The Taliban in Afghanistan's Kabul bombing raid has claimed more than 100 lives

In a bomb attack on Saturday in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, the explosion of a bomb-mounted ambulance has caused 103 deaths and 235 others were injured. The ambulance was exploded at a police checkpoint in the busy part of the city.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing. A week ago, the group announced the attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, killing more than 20 people.

A spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry blamed the attack on the Haqqani network, an armed group linked to the Taliban. Afghan and western officials believe the Haqqani network is behind the many large-scale attacks aimed at urban targets in Afghanistan.
